Description

Delight in the indulgence of soft, fluffy cinnamon rolls filled with chocolate cookie crumbs and cream cheese, all drizzled with a sweet glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup crushed chocolate cookies
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast: In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Allow the mixture to sit and foam for 5-10 minutes.
  2. Prepare the dough: In a larger bowl, mix flour and salt. Pour in the foamy yeast mixture, along with melted butter and the egg. Stir until just combined, then knead the mixture on a floured surface for about 5-8 minutes until smooth.
  3. Let it rise: Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm area for about 60 minutes or until it doubles in size.
  4. Create the filling: Once the dough is risen, roll it out into a rectangle on a floured surface. Spread the softened cream cheese evenly over the dough, then sprinkle generously with crushed chocolate cookies.
  5. Roll it up: Tightly roll the dough from one long end to the other. Slice the rolled dough into 1-inch sections using a sharp knife or dental floss.
  6. Second rise: Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, sprinkle with a few more cookie crumbs, and let them rise again for another 30 minutes.
  7. Bake to perfection: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes, turning golden brown and heavenly.
  8. Drizzle with glaze: In a small bowl, combine powdered sugar and heavy cream to create a smooth glaze. Drizzle generously over the warm rolls.

Notes

For a hassle-free brunch, consider preparing the dough the night before. You can also customize your filling with chocolate chips or nuts.
